Seven arrests during four-hour drug dog operation in Nimbin

Seven people were arrested during a four-hour drug dog operation in Nimbin today, NSW Police say.

Between 11am and 3pm today (Tuesday 24 April 2018), Police from Richmond Police District, the Richmond Operations Unit and a drug detection dog, conducted a drug operation in the Nimbin Central Business District.

As a result of the operation seven people were arrested for dug detections which included cannabis and ice.

Police detained a man with two officers suffering minor bruising during the arrest.

The 27-year-old man was later charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis, assault and resist police.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Lismore Local Court on Monday 28 May 2018.

Officers also conducted 24 person searches and issued seven move on directions.

Further operations are anticipated.
