Seven litres seized from vehicle - Jabiru

Northern Territory Police have seized seven litres of alcohol from a vehicle travelling to Oenpelli – an Alcohol Protected Area.

The unregistered and defective vehicle was apprehended at Jabiru on Sunday, with members observing liquor on the front passenger and driver side floor of the vehicle, Northern Territory Police say.

Upon searching the vehicle, members located:

  • 1 x 1L rum
  • 1 x 700ml rum
  • 3 x 375ml rum
  • 2 x 700ml vodka
  • 1 x 2L wine

The 19-year-old male driver was issued a Notice to Appear for bringing liquor into an Alcohol Protected Area, driving a defective motor vehicle and driving an unregistered/uninsured vehicle.

The 27-year-old male passenger was issued a Notice to Appear for bringing liquor into an Alcohol Protected Area.
