Sexual assault in Brisbane City, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a man who may be able to assist with an investigation into the sexual assault of a woman in Brisbane City on January 18, Queensland Police say.

Around 5.30am, the man entered a room at a backpacker’s hostel on Upper Roma Street and inappropriately touched a woman asleep in a bed.

The woman told the man to leave the room, and he did, however he loitered around the area for a number of hours.

It is believed he then attended a nearby backpacker’s hostel and spoke to people there.

The man is described as being between 20 and 30, of Indian appearance, proportionate build and with dark brown hair, blue eyes and stubble / light facial hair.

Anyone who may have seen this man in the Upper Roma Street area on or around January 18 is urged to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
