We're inviting the community to give feedback to Glen Eira City Council on their draft Elster Creek Litter Action Plan.
Litter is a serious issue impacting our waterways and wildlife, but with your input, we can work towards a cleaner, safer Elster Creek for everyone.
Elster Creek is the primary waterway collecting rainwater from streets across Bayside, Port Phillip, Glen Eira and Kingston municipalities. The creek winds through parts of Brighton, with its catchment area including Elsternwick, North Brighton, Brighton East, Gardenvale, and Bentleigh before draining into Port Phillip Bay at Elwood via the Elwood Canal.
Your feedback will help shape practical actions like stopping litter at the source and supporting clean-ups to protect the environment and reduce litter in this vital local waterway.
Across the catchment, councils and partners are already working together to tackle litter and protect Elster Creek. From community clean-ups and education programs to infrastructure upgrades and data collection, this work is laying the foundation for long-term change.
The draft Elster Creek Litter Action Plan builds on these efforts and marks the next step in our shared journey. It reflects the voices of local residents, community groups and environmental advocates, and sets the stage for ongoing collaboration.
Feedback on the plan closes on Sunday 14 December.
