Northern Territory responded to a report of a 17-year-old male being bitten by a shark in Nhulunbuy earlier today.
Just before 10am police were notified from a vessel 30km off shore that the teenage male had been bitten on the arm by a shark while spear fishing, Northern Territory Police say.
The teenager was conveyed to the Nhulunbuy Hospital and later transported to Royal Darwin Hospital.
