Council is seeking inclusive, youth-focused events that reflect the creativity and diversity of young people aged 12 to 25. Events may include workshops, performances, cultural celebrations, forums, recreational activities or anything that brings young people together in a positive and meaningful way.

Successful applicants will have their events featured in the official Youth Fest 2026 program and promoted across the region through Council's digital channels, local schools, youth organisations, community venues and more.

This year's campaign also introduces Shelby, the new face of youth events in Greater Shepparton. Designed by Genesis Dal, Shelby creates a fun and recognisable identity for youth programs while showcasing local creative talent.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali encouraged local organisations, schools and community groups to help bring Youth Fest 2026 to life.

"Youth Fest is about celebrating the ideas, talents and contributions of young people across Greater Shepparton," he said.

"It gives young people the chance to connect, try something new and take part in events that reflect who they are and what matters to them.

"We know there are many local organisations doing great work with young people. By submitting an event for the program, they can help create a strong month-long celebration that is welcoming, inclusive and full of opportunity."

Council's Director Healthy Communities and Liveability, Briana Baass said Youth Fest is an important way to support young people to feel seen, heard and valued.

"Youth Fest works best when it is shaped by the interests and voices of young people," she said.

"We are looking for events that create safe and inclusive spaces where young people can build confidence, learn new skills, express themselves and connect with others.

"This year is also exciting with the introduction of Shelby, the new face of youth events in Greater Shepparton. Shelby was designed by Genesis Dal and is a great example of how we can celebrate and include young local creativity in the work we do."

Applications must be submitted via Council's website before 11.59pm on Monday 24 August 2026.
