Shire sports clubs share in Sporting Club Grants Program

The CKS Swifts Football Netball Club and Stawell Amateur Athletic Club have become the latest recipients of the Victorian Government's 2018-19 Sporting Club Grants Program, sharing in over $530,000 in grants with 386 grassroots sports clubs across the state.

Both clubs will receive $1,000 each that will go towards the purchase of new uniforms.

Labor Member for Western Victoria, Jaala Pulford said, "The Labor Government is working hard to encourage and enable all Victorians to embrace a more active and healthier lifestyle so that people have every chance to realise their potential."

"The Sporting Club Grants Program is giving grassroots sports clubs in the Wimmera the support they need to grow their ranks and help more people than ever play the sports they love."

Mayor of Northern Grampians Shire Council, Cr Kevin Erwin said, "I'd like to congratulate both sports clubs on receiving these grants to purchase new club uniforms."

"Every bit of assistance counts when it comes to local sports clubs, so we certainly encourage all clubs to apply for this grant funding next time around."

The 2018-19 Sporting Club Grants Program is designed to help boost the equipment, skills and administration expertise of local sports clubs.
