A man who escaped custody from a hospital in the state’s south has been arrested and charged this afternoon, NSW Police say.
The 35-year-old man allegedly escaped while under guard at a hospital in the Shoalhaven, about 1.45pm last Monday (22 August 2016).
Following a wide scale search, just before 3pm today, police attended a home on Devon Street, Berkeley, and arrested the 35-year-old man.
He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged by virtue of a warrant for escape lawful custody.
The man was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court tomorrow.
