Shots fired at Camperdown believed to be a targeted attack

Police are appealing for information after shots were fired into a car at Camperdown this morning, NSW Police said.

Just after 4.20am Monday, officers attached to Leichhardt Local Area Command were called to Alexandra Drive following reports of shots fired.

On arrival, police located a vehicle, which appeared to have been damaged by projectiles.

No one was injured, and a crime scene was established.

Further inquiries have led police to believe a male was seen running from the area around the time of the incident.

He was last seen running down Stirling Circuit towards Wigram Road, Glebe.

As police continue their inquiries, they are appealing for anyone with information, or any witnesses who have not yet come forward, to contact Crime Stoppers.

Detectives would also like to speak to the male seen fleeing the area, who may be able to assist them.

He is only described as wearing a long-sleeved hooded jumper.

The incident is believed to have been targeted.
