Shots fired, police probe in Casula

Police are investigating after shots were fired inside a home in Sydney’s south west overnight, NSW Police say.

About 11pm (Thursday 15 March 2018), a man armed with a firearm entered a home on Carnation Avenue, Casula.

Following an altercation, the man has fired a number of shots inside the home.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene at Casula.

A man, believed to be aged in his 20s, suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. The injured man left the home with a friend, and travelled in a vehicle to a unit on Sutton Road, Ashcroft.

Following inquiries, police attended an address on Tantangara Street, Heckenberg and seized a vehicle which will be forensically examined.

Shortly before 1am (Friday 16 March 2018) emergency services were called to a unit on Sutton Road, Ashcroft, where they found the injured man.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police are urging any witnesses, or anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area at the time of the incident, to contact Crime Stoppers.
