Significant water damage to local business after water hydrants turned on – West Ipswich

Ipswich detectives are investigating after a hardware business sustained significant water damage overnight, Queensland Police say.

Sometime between 8.10pm Saturday, October 14 and 6.15am Sunday, October 15 three water hydrants, located in the carpark of the Brisbane Road, West Ipswich business, were turned on.

A large quantity of water caused significant flooding to the ground floor (underground car park) of the business, damaging structures such as wall, doors and windows, as well as destroying the internal electrics.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone loitering in the area, or acting suspiciously to contact them.
