Police attended the scene of a single vehicle crash at Black Charlies Opening, Tasman Highway, Orielton, Tasmania Police say.
A 79 year old Claremont man was riding with other motor cyclists in a northerly direction at about 10:20 am when he lost control of his motor cycle and collided with Armco railing.
The rider was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time of the crash, road conditions and visibility were good. Police ask anyone with any information to contact Sorell Police or Crime Stoppers.
