Single Ticket Takes Entire Powerball Jackpot

In an exhilarating Powerball draw 1429, one fortuitous player from Victoria has emerged as the sole winner of the staggering Division One prize of $60,000,000.00 by miraculously matching all numbers.

This October 5, 2023 draw had set aflutter the hearts of Australian lottery enthusiasts, boasting the second-largest jackpot in the country's history.

The winning sequence for tonight's draw included numbers [11], [19], [4], [22], [3], [8], and [14], with the Powerball number being [5].

Update: The winner - a woman from Daylesford, Victoria - has revealed how she will spend her windfall.

Though the highlight remains the single ticket scooping the grand prize, several other winners across different divisions shared the remaining prize pool. Seven lucky winners in Division Two each secured a substantial amount of $155,630.30, summing up to $1,089,412.10 for the division. Division Three had 148 winners, with each individual bagging $9,151.40.

Further down the divisions, there were 2,798 winners in Division Four, each collecting $420.90, while 5,710 participants in Division Five took home $154.70 each. Division Six and Seven recorded 78,936 and 110,278 winners respectively, securing amounts of $70.15 and $39.00.

The largest number of winners came from Divisions Eight and Nine. Division Eight saw 475,913 ticket holders winning $19.20 each, while an impressive 1,330,372 participants in Division Nine each received $11.80.

The total prize pool in play tonight amounted to about $100 million ($99,159,947.11) distributed among all division winners. It was the second biggest jackpot ever offered in Australia after the $100 million historic game in June  this year when a Western Sydney man won $100 million.
