Single-vehicle fatal crash near Orange

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state's Central West today.

About 11.35am today (24 March 2020), emergency services were contacted after a motorist came across a single-vehicle crash on Ophir Road, approximately 7km north of Orange.

On arrival, the Rural Fire Service located the a woman trapped inside the Hilux utility.

Officers from Central West Police District attended the scene and were assisted by Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance and Toll Helicopter.

The woman was unable to be revived and died at the scene. She is yet to be formally identified.

Initial inquiries indicate that the vehicle left the road, colliding with a tree and rolled onto it's roof.

A crime scene was established and specialist forensic officers examined the scene.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced and anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
