Police have charged four men and two women after seizing drugs, cash and two firearms following the execution of several search warrants in the South Coast, NSW Police say.
Officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command established Strike Force Arctic in April 2017 to investigate the supply of illicit drugs in Nowra.
Following investigations, six simultaneous search warrants were executed just after 10am today at homes in Bomaderry, North Nowra, along with two at Nowra and East Nowra.
Local police were assisted by Tactical Operations Unit (TOU), Police Dog Unit, Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS), Police Rescue and local area commands from Wollongong, Lake Illawarra, Far South Coast and The Hume.
During the raids police located and seized methylamphetamine (ICE), cash and two firearms, one of which appears to be a homemade firearm.
Six people were arrested – three in North Nowra, two in Nowra and one in Bomaderry – and taken to Nowra Police Station where they were charged with the following offences:
A 32-year-old man from North Nowra was charged with supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity (eight counts); supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis; and supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity. He was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court tomorrow.
A 46-year-old man from North Nowra was charged with knowingly direct activities of a criminal group, deal with property proceeds of crime, and supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity. He was refused bail and will appear at Nowra Local Court today.
A 27-year-old woman, also arrested in North Nowra, was charged with two counts of take part supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity. She was granted bail to appear at Nowra Local Court on Monday 4 September 2017.
A 38-year-old Bomaderry man was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug; supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis; and possess prohibited drug. He was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court tomorrow.
A 24-year-old Nowra man was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug and knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime. He was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court tomorrow.
A 50-year-old Nowra woman was charged with seven counts of supply prohibited drugs; along with two counts of supply prohibited drug- indictable quantity. She was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court tomorrow.
