Detectives have completed a day of processing offenders following a brawl at the corner of Swanston Street and Flinders Street early on Saturday morning, Victoria Police say.
Police and emergency services converged on the scene about 3.30am having been notified of the incident.
A number of patients were treated for injuries including a 30-year-old man from Mt Evelyn, two 26-year-old men from Mt Evelyn, a 26-year-old man from Ferntree Gully and a 31-year-old man from Werribee.
Four of the victims were treated at hospital and one was treated by Ambulance Victoria on scene. Their injuries ranged in severity but were not life threatening.
Nine males were arrested and of those, six have been charged with a range of offences but predominately assaults.
Two 19-year-old men, one from a yet to be confirmed address and one from Hoppers Crossing have been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Sunday.
Two 16-year-old teenagers, one from Hillside and one from Fawkner have both been remanded to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
A 20-year-old Sydenham man was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 14 November and a 15-year-old Deer Park teenager was bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
