Six8 Launch marks a turning point for the music industry

The launch of Six8 marks a turning point for the music industry. With much loved live music venues closing down and festivals being cancelled, our once vibrant music scene is dying. Six8 steps in to fill the breach by providing a platform for hosts to connect with live musicians directly. Homes transform into venues, every park becomes a festival, and music finds its place again live and outside of your headphones.

This year alone has seen us lose stalwarts of the live music scene such as The Newtown Social Club and The Annandale Hotel. The founding partners, Keith Sue and Saurabh Das, stopped lamenting the loss of live music opportunities for both artists and avid consumers of live music and created Six8.

"Why shouldn’t the streets be filled with live music…?" – Keith Sue, Managing Director, Six8

The Six8 platform allows for new and creative opportunities to interact with Live Music. Within 7 months of launching the public response for Six8 has been resounding. With now over 900 artists signed up and gig-ready on the platform, the opportunities for people to invite live music into their lives is only a few clicks away. Hosts have been quick and creative in their use of the platform, with events ranging from a Singer-songwriter entertaining on the pool-deck, to a soulful duo busting out some tunes in a bookshop, or even a string quartet playing "Game of Thrones" theme songs on the launch of a new season.

Six8 uses the power of technology to empower musicians and connect them directly with hosts. It is the turning point in the live music industry.
