Skipton brigade gets creative in Hay Bale Trail

The trail was created around the Corangamite Shire for members of the community to explore and see a range of hay bale creations.

Skipton Fire Brigade Captain Chris Heywood said the brigade had taken part in many community-focused events in the past, but this is the first time they had painted hay bales.

"A few members were involved in creating the hay bale," Chris said. "Also, there a couple helped place bales around the town and one of our members supplied a lot of the bales.

"Our members hold positions in many clubs around town and a couple of us decorated captain Koala.

"It was just a fun, light-hearted thing to do. Although we are all busy and COVID-19 has changed a lot of day-to-day things for people, in my eyes this was just a good bit of fun and shows that the brigade is still there and has not lost its community spirit."
