Sledgehammers used in attempted robbery of Rosebery restaurant, NSW

Police are appealing for information to identify four people who attempted to rob a restaurant in Rosebery this morning, NSW Police say.

Two cleaners were in the Morley Street restaurant when four people – armed with sledgehammers and their faces covered – smashed in the front glass door about 2.50am tomorrow.

The cleaners were able to escape the business while the four searched unsuccessfully for cash; the group then left in a small silver hatchback.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Redfern Police or Crime Stoppers.
