Tasmanian Labor welcomes the slight reduction in the unemployment rate with the latest jobs data revealing it sits at 5.7 per-cent.
Shadow Treasurer David O'Byrne said the fall was welcome, but the Government cannot continue to attack Tasmanian workers and TAFE.
"Labor welcomes the slight fall in unemployment, however this number does not paint the full picture," Mr O'Byrne said.
"There have been 1,800 full time jobs lost, underemployment is the second-highest in the country at 9 per-cent and outside of Hobart the unemployment rate is at 7.7 per-cent.
"Tasmanian workers outside of Hobart continue to feel the impacts of COVID-19 and Premier Peter Gutwein cannot continue to fail them.
"Over the past few weeks we have seen Peter Gutwein attack Hydro, Ambulance Tasmania and the Fire Service and on Tuesday this week he revealed his plan to sell off TAFE.
"This is not the way to help Tasmania recover from the COVID-19 downturn.
"An over reliance on a narrow stimulus coupled with policy and economic complacency does not provide Tasmanians with economic peace of mind.
"Only Labor has a plan to create 35,000 jobs across the state and in different industry sectors.
"The Liberals continue to cut jobs and ignore Tasmanian workers, only Labor will build a better and fairer Tasmania."
