Sneak peek of Parrtjima 2021

NT Government

Excitement is building for Parrtjima 2021, and an online preview on Monday, 8 February, will give Territorians a taste of what they can expect at Festival in Light.

Each year Parrtjima showcases the world's oldest living culture through the newest technologies, transforming the ancient outback landscape of Alice Springs Desert Park into a living, breathing canvas.

This includes the lighting of two kilometres of the majestic MacDonnell Ranges, and a collection of larger-than-life light installations that share ancient stories and shine like beacons beneath the star-studded sky.

The theme for this year's event is Future Kultcha, which focuses on intergenerational wisdom told through light, interactive workshops, art, music, films, performance and the spoken word.

The online preview will provide a tantalising look at the beauty of this year's installations, and introduce some of the artists and experts involved in bringing them to life. To join the preview event, like and follow the Parrtjima Facebook page.

Parrtjima is a free event delivered by the NT Government via NT Major Events Company and produced by Creative Directors AGB Events. Parrtjima takes place at Alice Springs Desert Park and Todd Mall in Alice Springs CBD from 9-18 April 2021. Stay tuned over coming weeks as more details of the event program are revealed.
