Solicitor arrested as investigation continue into the murder of Brayden Dillon, NSW

A solicitor has been arrested as investigations continue into the alleged murder of a teenager from Sydney’s south-west last year, NSW Police say.

Police were called to a home on Moresby Avenue, Glenfield, about 6.10am on Friday 14 April 2017, and found 15-year-old Brayden Dillon in bed with a gunshot wound to his head.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition, where he later died.

An investigation was launched by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, assisted by the NSW Crime Commission and South West Metropolitan Region, under Strike Force Wongala.

Six people have previously been charged by investigators. They remain before the courts.

Following further investigations, Strike Force Wongala investigators attended a home at Monterey about 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 30 October 2018), and approached a 38-year-old male resident as he arrived.

The man then drove from the location.

A short time later, strike force investigators executed search warrants at the Monterey home, an office in Sydney CBD, and a storage unit at Bexley.

During the searches, investigators seized electronic stun devices, more than $30,000 cash, mobile phones, laptops and computers, documentation, and other items relevant to the investigation.

Following further inquiries, the man, who is a solicitor, was arrested at Surry Hills Police Station just after 6am today (Wednesday 31 October 2018).

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Wongala detectives to call Crime Stoppers.
