Solicitor charged in connection to Doonside shooting murder

A solicitor has been charged in connection to the murder of Craig Anderson in Sydney's west earlier this year.

Police and emergency services were called to Meridian Place, Doonside, about 7.30pm on Monday 27 May 2019, after reports a man had been shot.

On arrival, officers located Craig Anderson, aged 51, with gunshot wounds. He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic and ballistics officers.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, with assistance from the Organised Crime Squad and Blacktown Police Area Command, commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting under Strike Force Naradhun.

Six men have previously been charged by investigators. They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, strike force investigators arrested a 28-year-old woman outside a home at Blacktown about 8.30am today (Thursday 3 October 2019).

The woman, who is a solicitor, was taken to Blacktown Police Station, and charged with accessory after the fact to murder, and tamper with evidence with intent to mislead judicial tribunal.

Police will allege in court that the woman destroyed evidence in connection to the murder.

She was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today.

Anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Naradhun investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
