A man has been arrested after investigations into break-ins at two southern suburbs businesses last week.
Police will allege that on Wednesday 1 April, a car yard at Morphett Vale was broken into, and a Mitsubishi Pajero was stolen along with number plates. The vehicle was located several days later at Morphett Vale.
Another break-in occurred at a function centre in Old Reynella on Saturday 4 April, with a cash donation box stolen from inside. The centre was closed due to the ongoing restrictions and closures of similar premises.
Further investigations helped police identify a suspect, who was seen driving in O'Halloran Hill last night (Thursday 9 April).
The car he was driving wasn't pursued, but police later found it at an address at Noarlunga Downs where he was arrested without incident.
The 34-year-old Oaklands Park man was charged with numerous offences including aggravated serious criminal trespass, theft, and illegal use of a motor vehicle. He was refused bail and will appear via videolink in court today.
Investigations continue regarding break-ins last week in the southern suburbs, and further charges against the man have not been ruled out.
Increased penalties apply for offences committed at premises that have been closed due to government restrictions, and police continue to regularly monitor and patrol areas that contain business affected by the statewide closures.
