Specialist advice to support businesses

Businesses in Mitchell Shire will have access to free specialist advice to help navigate the COVID-19 pandemic with accountancy, tax, business strategy and human relations advice available through Council's Jobs and Investments team.

The service can be delivered online or by phone with specialist staff providing advice on:

  • Accountancy and tax - particularly to help businesses to access government assistance and other accounting matters that arise as a result of COVID-19
  • Business strategy - to help businesses respond to the impacts of COVID-19 and into recovery
  • Human relations - to advise on employee rights, remuneration, legal entitlements and obligations.

Eligible businesses can access a free 60-minute session with extra sessions available until January 2021. Businesses can request advice in more than one area. Session availability may be limited due to high demand.

The information collected through the sessions will also help Council to understand the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 on local businesses. This information will help identify future support and advocacy needs.

The Business Advice Service is being supported under the State Government's Working for Victoria initiative.
