Specialist Officer Charged in Firearms Offences

A police officer has been charged with allegedly possessing gel blaster firearms.

Officers attached to Professional Standards Command began an investigation after receiving information a gel blaster rifle had been purchased from an online company in early November 2025.

Following inquiries, police identified further purchases of gel blaster firearms were made earlier this year.

On Friday 5 December 2025, police executed a search warrant at a home in North Western Sydney, where they located and seized,

  • 21 gel blaster pistols
  • 16 gel blaster long arms
  • One pair of handcuffs
  • Six rounds of ammunition, and
  • Metal silences/magazine extensions.

Today (Thursday 18 December 2025), a constable attached to a specialist command, was charged with 38 offences,

  • Possess unauthorised pistol (21 counts),
  • Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm (11 counts),
  • Possess unauthorised firearm (4 counts),
  • Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and
  • Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

The 37-year-old man was served a Future Court Attendance Notice to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday 2 February 2026.
