Speed limit changes in Sorrento

MPSLogo_News.jpg

We announced in June we'd received $2.5 million funding from the State Government for improved traffic management and necessary road upgrades in the vicinity of the ferry terminal.

We're pleased to say we've had approval from the Department of Transport to reduce the speed limit to 40km/h at Ocean Beach Road and surrounding areas.

Work to change the speed limit signage will start on Monday 13 December and will be of minimal disruption to traffic. Work will take up to seven days to complete.

We're working in collaboration with Searoad Ferries, the Department of Transport (VicRoads) and the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions to deliver these road safety upgrades.

Other works are due to begin in autumn 2022 and include:

  • Construction of a roundabout at Point Nepean Road and Hotham Road, Sorrento.
  • Upgrades to Hotham Road between The Esplanade and Point Nepean Road.
