Speeding driver tests positive, SA

A speeding driver has lost his licence on the spot for six months after being clocked at double the speed limit at Reynella this afternoon, according to SA Police.

Just before 4.30pm on Tuesday 25 October, an officer from State Traffic Enforcement Motorcycle Section pulled over a vehicle detected travelling 100 km/h in a 50 km/h zone in Young Street, Reynella.

The driver, a 22-year-old Clovelly Park man, was issued with an expiation notice totalling $1052 and his licence was suspended for six months. His car was also defected.

Also, the driver returned a positive test for a methamphetamine. The sample will be sent for forensic analysis.
