Fawkner Highway Patrol officers detected a car allegedly driving 45km/h over the speed limit in Campbellfield early hours this morning.
Police clocked the blue Ford sedan traveling at an alleged speed of 115km/h in a 70 zone south on Syndey Road about 3.00am.
Police intercepted the car being driven by a 30-year-old Craigieburn man.
The man allegedly tested positive to an oral fluid test indicating drugs in his system.
He was issued with an immediate 12-hour ban from driving and is expected to be charged on summons with drug driving and speeding offences.
