Award winning journalist, author and television presenter Stan Grant will be coming to Maitland as part of Maitland Libraries' Look Who's Talking Program speaking about identity and the world in crisis on Thursday 8 April, 6.00pm to 8.00pm, at Gillieston Heights Community Hub.
After more than 20 years working as a journalist and travelling the world for ABC, Al Jazeera, CNN and Seven News, Stan turned his attention to the Aboriginal experience, racism and identity to publish the acclaimed Walkley Award winning Talking to My Country and its follow up, Australia Day. Both books are a deeply felt personal meditation on what it means to be Australian.
Considered to be one of Australia's foremost chroniclers and observers, Grant brings his strong voice and incisive exploration to his new book, With the Falling of the Dusk to be released this April.
As a proud Wiradjuri and Kamilaroi man who has spent considerable time travelling Australia and the world, Stan's insights into the Australian identity are considered and informed. His passion for justice and humanity is at the forefront of his writing and reporting.
