Townsville City Council will be taking proactive measures to repair erosion at the base of the Ross River Dam Spillway.
The dam spillway gates are operating and the erosion has no impact on the structural integrity of the Ross River Dam.
Council now has local contractors on site completing the works, including moving machinery and materials across the Dam spillway to gain access to the eroded area adjoining Ross River.
