An Eatons Hill couple are starting their workweek as newly minted millionaires after a last-minute ticket in the weekend's Saturday Gold Lotto draw scored them a flashy $2 million.
The Brisbane residents held one of the five division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4607 on Saturday, 13 September 2025. Each division one winning entry can look forward to $2 million.
When we called the duo to reveal the news, the winning husband answered the phone with no idea of their good fortune, leaving him in complete shock.
"This has to be a gee up! Are you for real right now?" the winning husband laughed.
"Man, what a shock! I'm speechless. I'm flabbergasted. I don't know what to say.
"When you rang a second time, I thought this could be important. It certainly was!
"This is an awesome start to my Monday.
"It was a last-minute ticket because my wife couldn't make it to the newsagency and asked me to get her one online.
"Normally, we only buy a lottery ticket if it's a big jackpot, so I actually said to her, 'Are you sure? It's only $10 million'. She's going to be ecstatic!
"It'll make such a difference to our lives, and it will help set up our kids.
"This is unbelievable. This is the best call I've ever received."
