Bayside Council has reviewed Council's revised Sports Ground Allocation and Usage Policy and has recommended it be placed on public exhibition.
The review for the allocation and use of Council sports grounds is to ensure the framework remains transparent, equitable, and responsive to the increasing demand for community sporting facilities.
A draft Sports Ground Allocation Policy and a draft Sports Ground Code of Conduct and Conditions of Use Guidelines were developed to provide direction and clarify how sports grounds are allocated, managed, and regulated.
The amendments refine the selection criteria, including the consideration of membership numbers when granting access and clarification of booking discretion within the allocation hierarchy.
These changes aim to support equitable allocation outcomes while maintaining flexibility to respond to competing demands and strategic community objectives.
The draft documents are included in the City Services Committee agenda and minutes, and will be open for feedback later this year.
