Thousands of people converged on Speers Point Park on Saturday 20 September for Lake Macquarie's annual celebration of eco-conscious living, community connection and practical solutions for a greener future.
Near-perfect spring weather helped boost this year's event, along with the likes of science commentator and headline presenter Dr Karl Kruszelnicki.
Dr Karl drew a crowd with his trademark wit and wisdom, unpacking the science behind climate change and sharing everyday tips to reduce environmental impact.
His talk was followed by a lively Q&A and book signing session.
Festival-goers explored themed zones packed with hands-on workshops, engaging displays and family-friendly activities, from native wildlife encounters and upcycled fashion markets to low-waste cooking demos and a solar power showcase.
Lake Macquarie City Council Manager Community Partnerships Matt Holloway said the festival's success reflected continued community interest in sustainability and making grassroots changes to help the environment.
"This event is all about empowering people to make small changes that add up to a big difference," he said.
"It's inspiring to see so many people embracing that message."
Free shuttle buses and a bike valet service helped reduce transport emissions, while a native plant giveaway encouraged residents to green their gardens with species endemic to Lake Macquarie.
