Stabbing charge - St Marys

Police have charged a woman following a domestic-related stabbing in Sydney's west overnight.

Shortly after midnight (Thursday 25 April 2019), emergency services were called to an address on Saddington Street, St Marys, after reports of a domestic incident.

Officers attended and located a 29-year-old man with a stab wound to his shoulder.

He was taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition with nonlife threatening injuries.

A woman had fled from the scene.

A crime scene was established, and officers from Nepean Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

About 2am, officers arrested a 20-year-old woman at a nearby address on Mamre Road.

The woman has been taken to Penrith Police Station where she was later charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The woman has been refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Thursday 25 April 2019).
