Stalk charges after teens followed near Dapto

A man has been charged after two teenage girls were approached near Dapto last week.

Shortly after 8am Friday (18 October 2019), two 15-year-old girls were walking along Avondale Road, Avondale, when they were allegedly approached by a man in a Holden Commodore wagon.

The man allegedly made inappropriate comments to the two teens and followed them for a short period of time in his vehicle, before the girls fled to a nearby house.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District commenced an investigation into the alleged offences.

Shortly after 8am today, Detectives arrested a 48-year-old man at Lake Illawarra Police Station.

The man was charged with two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal violence).

He was refused bail and is due to face Wollongong Local Court today (Thursday 24 October 2019).
