The State's best mountain bike riders have taken to the trails in Rockhampton for the 2026 Auscycling MTB Enduro State Championships over the weekend.
It's the third time the state championship was hosted in Rockhampton, thanks to $10,000 in sponsorship from the Rockhampton Regional Council.
Rockhampton Regional Council Mayor Tony Williams said Council was proud to support this year's event, with the funding helping the Rockhampton Mountain Bike Club provide critical services and event infrastructure.
"It's great to see the Queensland State Enduro Championship return to Rockhampton.
"We have incredible riding trails in the region and hosting events like this cements our reputation as a sporting and mountain biking hub."
Rockhampton Mountain Bike Club Vice President Myall Stevens said the event attracted around 100 riders to the First Turkey Mountain Bike Reserve following a successful event in 2023.
"The championship brought riders from across Queensland as well as their families and support crews," Mr Stevens said.
"Beyond the race weekend, the championships provide an important opportunity to showcase Rockhampton's growing reputation as a mountain biking destination, creating lasting economic and tourism benefits while encouraging riders to return and explore the region's extensive trail network."
