Beam Mobility will be pausing its shared micromobility operations in Lake Macquarie from 24 May 2024.

A Beam spokesperson said: "We're proud to have brought zero-emissions transportation to Lake Macquarie, with 30,000 kilometres travelled and just under 40,000 trips taken to date on Beam's shared e-scooters and e-bikes.

"We thank the Lake Macquarie City Council and Dantia for their support of shared micromobility, in particular being the first NSW council to welcome shared e-scooters in December 2022.

"We believe that there is a need for shared micromobility as a transportation option for short trips in every city, and will continue to assess the viability of shared micromobility operations in Lake Macquarie."
