This is not our country. This is not who we are.
The terrorist attack at Bondi is a stain on our nation and governments at all levels must work to return us to the social harmony our nation has been known for.
This morning, with my Liberal colleagues, I met with Jewish community leaders in Melbourne and expressed our solidarity with them.
It was devastating to hear of the impacts of this heinous crime on the Victorian Jewish community, that they have been warning governments such an event was coming, and that even before last night, some Australian Jews were contemplating moving to Israel because they would feel safer there.
As much as this was an evil attack on the Jewish community, it is an attack on all Australians.
We must redouble our efforts to stamp out hateful ideology that leads to such horrendous violence.
The Nationals stand with the Jewish community and extend our condolences to all who have been touched by this horrific crime.
