Stay vigilant and informed on bushfires

As fires continue to burn across the state, and with ongoing hot weather conditions, it is vital Tasmanians follow the advice of the Tasmania Fire Service and the Parks and Wildlife Service and stay informed.

Total fire bans are in place today in the North and South of the state, with further fire bans declared across the State later this week.

If you see a fire, report it immediately to 000.

The Tasmania Fire Service, Parks and Wildlife Service and Sustainable Timber Tasmania have the Government’s full support to do whatever is needed to tackle these fires.

The Government is working closely with these firefighting agencies, with Cabinet receiving a briefing from representatives this morning.

The Government and the community are extremely grateful for the work of our dedicated volunteer and career firefighters, as well as those from interstate and New Zealand, are doing to protect life and property in these hot and difficult conditions.
