Stealing with violence Alice Springs

At around 1:15am on Saturday a 22 year old man and 19 year old woman were walking on Bath Street, in the CBD, when they were allegedly confronted by two male youths, Northern Territory Police say.

A further 10 to 12 unknown persons appeared and allegedly demanded and took money before assaulting the man and stealing the woman’s mobile phone. The group ran off when they were interrupted by Night Patrol.

The 29 year old woman was walking along Undoolya Road when she was approached from behind by a group of female youths who attempted to grab the woman’s backpack.

The youths physically assaulted the woman but ran off when a Taxi stopped to assist. The woman received minor injuries.

NT Police are asking for anyone with information about the incident to ring them on 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously.
