Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow reteam for "Powerhouse"

- Steven Spielberg‘s production company Amblin Entertainment is working with "Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow on a family action movie titled "Powerhouse".

Simon Kinberg is producing along with Trevorrow as indie filmmaker Emily Carmichael will write and direct, TheWrap has learned.

Trevorrow created the story for "Powerhouse," the plot details for which have not yet been shared.

The "Jurassic World" director, plucked by Spielberg following his indie "Safety Not Guaranteed," is said to have jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with the rising filmmaker.

Carmichael wrote the best-seller "Ophelia Speaks," and created the animated web series "The Adventures of Ledo and Ix" along with the animated short "RPG OKC."

Trevorrow is said to be a fan of her short film "The Hunter and the Swan Discuss Their Meeting," winner of the grand jury prize at the 2012 Science Fiction Fantasy Short Film Festival.

Both Carmichael and Trevorrow are represented by Verve and Ginsburg/Daniels.
