Stolen Car Crashes At Dutton

A stolen car crashed at Dutton, north of Truro, last night.

A member of the public spotted the stolen Toyota Land Cruiser at Morgan about 8pm on Thursday 1 January, recognised it from a social media post and alerted police.

PolAir was quickly overhead and located the vehicle as it headed south at speed on the Thiele Highway and Eudunda Road towards Truro.

The vehicle crashed into a ditch at Dutton just before 9pm.

Patrols arrived at the scene a short time later and apprehended the three occupants of the stolen car.

Two passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Munno Para and a 36-year-old man from Salisbury Park, sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the car, a 31-year-old Mount Gambier man, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

The driver was arrested is expected to be charged with illegal use, drive in a manner dangerous to the public and other offences.

Investigations are ongoing.
