Stolen firearms seized, NSW

Police have seized two stolen firearms and ammunition as part of their ongoing inquiries into a number of break and enters in the State’s Central West, NSW Police say.

Officers from Orana Local Area Command executed two search warrants at Parkes Street and Zouch Street, Wellington, earlier today.

At the Parkes Street address, police allegedly located two firearms which were confirmed as stolen as well as other items taken from homes in the local area.

At the Zouch Street address, police seized ammunition.

No one was found at either of the homes and police are continuing their inquiries.

Today’s actions follow the execution of a search warrant at a home in Maxwell Street, Wellington, on Monday (1 August 2016).

There, police allege they found firearm parts, ammunition, prohibited drugs and stolen property when they entered the home about 4.45pm.

A 32-year-old man was taken to Wellington Police Station; however, he has been released pending further investigation.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
