Stolen Mercedes Hunt Tied to More Armed Robberies

A grey Mercedes-Benz involved in a spate of armed robberies between 1 and 2 July has been involved in another crime spree overnight, this time targeting businesses in Melbourne's south-east.

• Four offenders wearing balaclavas attended a fast-food business on Ormond Road, Narre Warren South in the stolen Mercedes about 6pm on 2 July.

Police were told three of the offenders entered the business and produced a knife before fleeing with a cash register till.

• Shortly later the group attended a liquor store on O'Shea Road, Berwick armed with knives and baseball bats.

They stole the cash register till and a number of bourbon and coke premix cartons.

• The offenders attended a service station on Old Princes Highway, Beaconsfield about 7.20pm.

Armed with knives, two of the offenders jumped the counter and stole cash.

The store attendant retreated to a secure room and the group fled in the Mercedes.

• The group attended a service station on Hardys Road, Clyde North just before 8pm.

It's believed three offenders, armed with baseball bats, jumped the counter and stole cigarettes and drinks.

• An unmarked police vehicle observed the Mercedes at a service station on Thompsons Road, Cranbourne North just after 8pm.

Officers saw three offenders exit the Mercedes with a baseball bat and attempt to gain access to the service station.

A short pursuit was initiated before officers lost sight of the Mercedes.

• The Mercedes attended a fast-food restaurant on Huntingdale Road, Oakleigh East about 9.20pm

One of the offenders attempted to remove the register till before a witness intervened.

A second offender approached the door brandishing a metal pole and the duo fled in the Mercedes.

• About 10 minutes later, the group attended another fast-food restaurant on Huntingdale Road, Huntingdale.

Three males entered the business and stole the cash register till and soft drink before fleeing in the Mercedes.

• Police were called to a service station on Blackburn Road, Doncaster East about 1.05am on 3 July.

Three males forced entry through a door while a staff member retreated to a back room.

They fled the scene with stolen cigarettes in the Mercedes.

• The same offenders attended a service station on Highbury Road, Mount Waverley about 1.45am.

They smashed a door to gain entry before fleeing with the cash register.

• Just before 2am the offenders attended another service station on Centre Road, Clarinda and were unable to gain entry.

• Shortly later they attended a service station on Clayton Road, Clayton South.

The store attendant retreated to a room while the offenders stole cigarettes and fled the scene.

• About 2.15am the group forced entry to a service station on Lower Dandenong Road, Braeside.

They fled the scene with stolen cash and cigarettes.

No one was physically injured during the incidents.

No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation remains ongoing.
