Stolen turtles recovered from Elizabeth Park home, SA

Four youths will face court after five stolen turtles were recovered from an Elizabeth Park home last night, according to SA Police.

The five short-necked turtles were discovered missing from a pet store at Munno Para on Tuesday afternoon with CCTV capturing four youths allegedly stealing the turtles.

Police received information from a member of the public regarding the location of the stolen turtles and subsequently attended at a home in Elizabeth Park.

As a result, two 13-year-old boys from Elizabeth Park were arrested and two other boys, aged 14 and 15 from Elizabeth Park, were reported for theft.

The arrested boys will front the Elizabeth Youth Court on 12 May while the two reported boys will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

The five turtles were recovered by police and although 'shell-shocked' they are now safe and recovering well.
