Three teenage girls have been charged after police detected a stolen vehicle travelling from Carrara to West Burleigh in the Gold Coast on June 7.
It will be alleged, the vehicle, a black BMW X5, was stolen from a Lakeside Avenue residence sometime between 10pm on June 6, and 5.30am on June 7.
Police, with assistance from Polair, tracked the vehicle from the Pacific Motorway in Carrara to Tallebudgera Creek Road in West Burleigh, where it was intercepted around 4pm.
The driver, a 17-year-old girl, was taken into custody.
The girl has been charged with multiple offences, including two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle (use in the night in company) and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle (use in company), enter dwelling and commit, and stealing.
She is due to appear before Southport Children's Court tomorrow, July 8.
A 15-year-old girl, a passenger in the vehicle, was also taken into custody.
She has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle (use in company), receiving tainted property, and stealing.
Another passenger, a 15-year-old girl, was also taken into custody.
She has been charged with four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle (use in the night in company) and one count of receiving tainted property.
Both girls are due to appear before Southport Children's Court on July 16.
