Stolen vehicle traffic incident in Mudgeeraba, QLD

Police have charged a 17-year-old man after the alleged theft of two vehicles and subsequent traffic crash in Mudgeeraba, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that around 1am the man broke into a Mudgeeraba residence, searched through a Toyota Kluger stealing the keys to a silver Mazda and drove away in it.

He allegedly dumped the vehicle on Mudgeeraba Road a short time later.

Then around 2am the man broke into the garage of a Tallai home and stole the keys to a Toyota Hilux which crashed into a Langport Drive, Mudgeeraba home causing minor damage to the house.

No one was injured during the incident. The man fled the scene and was located by police nearby.

A 17-year-old Mudgeeraba man has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of burglary and enter with intent. He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates court today.

Investigations are continuing.
