Stolen wheelchair in Bracken Ridge, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a wheelchair stolen from a young boy in Bracken Ridge on May 4, Queensland Police say.

Between 11.15pm and 11.35pm, car keys and other items were stolen from an Evergreen Street property, along with a grey Nissan XTrail which had a wheelchair in the rear.

The stolen vehicle was later located in Caboolture on May 5, however, the wheelchair was not inside the car and may have been dumped between Bracken Ridge and Caboolture.

The wheelchair (pictured) belongs to the family of a six-year-old boy who suffers from a medical condition, and replacing it would take six months at a cost of $3000.

The wheelchair is used to help the boy avoid muscle fatigue and prevent muscle loss.

Police are encouraging anyone who saw or heard suspicious, or who may have dashcam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers.
