Street Robbery At Woodville Gardens

Police are appealing for any witnesses or CCTV footage as investigations continue into a street robbery at Woodville Gardens this morning.

About 7.15am on Sunday 24 May, the victim, a man in his 50s, was walking to bus stop 26 on Trafford Street, Woodville Gardens.

A white car drove past him as he neared the bus stop, then the car turned into Parker Street, Ferryden Park. Three men of African appearance then ran towards the victim. They threatened him with a knife and stole his bag, containing cash, before running off towards Parker Street.

The victim sustained a minor laceration to his throat during the robbery but did not require medical treatment.

The three suspects are all described as of African appearance and aged in their early 20s. Two of the men were about 175cm tall, with short curly hair and wearing dark clothing and black baseball caps. The third man was shorter, about 150 to 155 cm tall, and wearing a black hooded jumper, black trackpants and black shoes.

Western District CIB detectives and crime scene investigators attended and examined the scene.
